MG CONNECT: the app for Maschio Gaspardo employees

The entire company in your pocket: clock-ins, payslips, leave requests and communications in one single app

The Client

Maschio Gaspardo is a multinational group with locations around the world, a leader in the manufacturing of professional agricultural machinery. The company has always invested in digitalizing its processes and enhancing the value of its human resources.

Goal

To create a single digital access point to improve internal communication and simplify employees’ daily administrative tasks. The main goals were:

  • Enable fast and targeted communication with all employees, regardless of location or department;
  • Centralize all key HR features (clock-ins, time off, documentation, communication, etc.) in a single app;
  • Strengthen brand awareness through a public section in the app dedicated to presenting the company, sharing news and events, and offering useful content for clients and prospects.

Solution

We designed and developed MG Connect, the official app for Maschio Gaspardo employees. Available on the App Store and Google Play, MG Connect is a natively multilingual solution, fully integrated with the company’s systems via Single Sign-On and powered by a .NET 8 backend with Umbraco 13 CMS.

Key features include:

  • Login with corporate credentials and integrated password recovery;
  • Mobile clock-in (with “Off-site Clock-in” for enabled users);
  • Leave and time-off request system with real-time status tracking (pending, approved, rejected);
  • Payslip viewing and download, organized by month and year;
  • HR communications, official documents, policies and regulations, tailored by role and location;
  • Real-time company news and events;
  • Quick-access dashboard with intuitive icons and shortcuts from the home screen.

The app also includes a public area with valuable content for external users.

Activities carried out:

The project was structured into several phases, all guided by a collaborative and results-oriented approach. Key activities included:

  • Needs analysis and functional co-design
    Regular meetings and workshops with the Maschio Gaspardo team to gather both explicit and unspoken needs, set priorities, and define project success criteria.
  • UX/UI Design
    The interface was designed in line with brand guidelines to ensure maximum usability and support user goals. A high-fidelity prototype enabled early validation of navigation flows and main interactions.
  • Software development and integrations
    The backend was built using Microsoft ASP.NET 8 and integrated with Umbraco 13 CMS. The infrastructure ensures portability, modularity, and high performance. Integrations were developed via REST APIs and other data exchange flows to connect with existing enterprise systems.
  • Implementation of an advanced CMS
    Umbraco CMS enables independent, multilingual, and multi-country content management. The HR team was trained to autonomously update documents, communications, news, and events.
  • Testing, release, and multi-store distribution
    Following functional and compatibility testing, the app was published on the App Store and Google Play, meeting each platform's guidelines.

Results

  • Faster, easier access to corporate services — even when on the move;
  • Reduced administrative workload for the HR office;
  • Increased employee satisfaction thanks to a simple and clear user interface;
  • Continuous engagement through news, events, and push notifications.
